Privacy notice
Last updated: 24 August 2026
This notice explains how Sentryva ("we", "us") collects and uses personal data when you use this website, contact us, or hire a Sentryva CCTV tower. It is written to meet UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we are
Sentryva, trading at sentryva.co.uk, provides rapid-deployment CCTV tower hire across Hampshire and the South of England, UK. As a business processing personal data, we comply with our obligations under UK data protection law, including registration with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) where required.

Data we collect through the website
When you submit the quote form on this site, we collect what you enter: name, company (optional), email address, phone number (optional), site address or postcode, and the details of your enquiry. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect payment details through this website.
Why we collect it, and our lawful basis
We use enquiry details to respond to you, prepare a quote, and — if you go ahead — to deliver the hire service and administer the resulting contract. This is on the basis of our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries directed at us, and, once a hire is agreed, to perform that contract.
What we don't do
This site does not run advertising or analytics tracking, and does not use marketing cookies. We do not sell or rent personal data to third parties. The only outside service the site loads is Google Fonts (for the typeface), which receives the visitor's IP address as a normal part of serving the font file — no other third-party script runs on this site.
How long we keep it
If an enquiry does not proceed to a hire, we keep the details for up to 24 months in case you get back in touch, then delete them. If a hire goes ahead, we keep the associated records for as long as the contract is active and for a period afterwards to meet our legal and accounting obligations (typically up to 6 years after the relationship ends).
Who we share it with
Enquiry and hire data is used by Sentryva. We share it with service providers who help us run the business — for example our email and hosting providers, and, where a hire includes 24/7 monitoring, our monitoring partner — only to the extent needed to deliver the service. We do not share personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
CCTV footage captured during a hire
Sentryva's core service involves cameras recording footage at a customer's site, which may capture images of people who are not our customer — employees, contractors, visitors, or members of the public. For this footage:
- The customer hiring the tower is generally responsible, as the data controller, for ensuring the deployment is lawful, proportionate and properly signed — including putting up visible CCTV signage that names a contact point for further information, as ICO guidance requires.
- Sentryva provides and operates the equipment and, where selected, the monitoring service, generally acting as a data processor on the customer's instructions.
- Footage is generally retained locally on the unit on a rolling basis, with older footage automatically overwritten as storage capacity is reached, unless a specific clip is retained because it's needed for an incident, investigation, or legal reason.
- Access to live footage and stored recordings is restricted to authorised personnel (our monitoring team, where used, and the customer), and connections to the unit are secured.
- Exact roles, responsibilities and retention periods for a given deployment are set out in the hire agreement — see our hire terms.
- Anyone captured on camera who wants to exercise their data protection rights over that footage should contact the site operator (our customer) in the first instance, or contact us and we will direct the request appropriately.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; have inaccurate data corrected; ask us to delete data; restrict or object to certain processing; and receive data you provided to us in a portable format. To exercise any of these, email hello@sentryva.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse — including restricting who can access stored footage and enquiry records, and securing connections to hired equipment. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to keep data appropriately protected.
